What happens to your information

What Is Solar Worth? is designed to help you evaluate a purchase without an account, phone number, or email address.

What you enter

You may enter a ZIP code, annual electricity use and cost, roof assumptions, utility choices, export treatment, and optional quote or financing details. We do not ask for an exact address, phone number, or email.

Local drafts and results

Calculator drafts and result snapshots are saved in your browser's local storage so you can continue later. They are not an account or cloud history. Start over removes the active draft, submitted calculation, and result, while keeping your separate analytics preference. You can also clear this site's storage in your browser.

Analysis processing

When you run an analysis, the relevant prepared inputs are sent to the application's server execution layer so the calculation can run. The current MVP does not persist analyses in a customer database. Production-provider requests contain only the physical location and production assumptions they need; PVWatts does not receive your spending, quote, loan, or installer claims.

Optional analytics

Analytics are off until you choose Allow analytics. If enabled, the site sends only low-cardinality events such as the calculator step or whether a quote is present. It does not send ZIP codes, utility names, usage, spending, prices, thresholds, system sizes, financing values, or result amounts. You can change this choice at any time with Privacy choices in the footer.

Error monitoring

Privacy-safe error monitoring runs only when configured for production. It does not use session replay or tracing, and it strips request data, identity, calculator values, local storage, breadcrumbs, and raw error text before an event can be sent.

Cookies and changes

The site uses browser local storage for calculator state and privacy preferences. We do not use an account system. This policy may be updated as the product changes; the date above identifies the current version.
